Payment rules
If you have more than one gateway, decide which one handles each payment based on amount, currency, country or payment method.
Before you start
You need at least two connected gateways for rules to make sense. Go to Settings › Payments › Payment rules.
Create a rule
Each rule says: “if the payment meets this condition, charge it with this gateway”.
-
Open the form
Click New rule and give it a Rule name that tells you what it is for, for example “Payments in dollars”. -
Choose the gateway
Under Gateway account pick the account to charge with when the rule matches. -
Set the condition
Under Rule type choose Amount, Currency, Country or Payment method. Then pick the Operator (Equal to, Not equal to, Greater than, Less than…) and type the Value. -
Save
Save the rule. It will appear in the Your rules list.
Important
Rules can’t tell card brands or issuing banks apart: only amount, currency, country and payment method.
Order your rules
Recaudo checks rules from top to bottom and applies the first one that matches.
-
Drag to reorder
In Your rules drag each rule into place. Put the most specific ones at the top. -
Edit or delete
Use the pencil to edit a rule or the trash can to delete it. -
Know what happens when none match
If a payment matches no rule, it is charged with your default gateway.
Tip
Start with a single rule, for example by currency, and check in Payments that charges go through the gateway you expected before adding more.
