Payment links

Get paid with a link: your customer opens it, pays by card and you see the payment right away.

Before you start

You need a payment gateway connected in Settings → Gateways. If you don't have one yet, Payment links takes you to set it up.

Create a payment link

  1. Open Payment links

In the sidebar, under Collect, click “Payment links” and then “New link”. You can also use “Create” → “New link” in the top bar.

  2. Choose who you're charging

Search for the customer by name, email, phone or external ID. If they owe you anything, you'll see it on screen and Recaudo calculates the exact amount. To charge without a customer, use the open link option.

  3. Choose what you're charging

Pick a pending balance, everything they owe, or another amount with its currency. Check the partial payments option if you want the same link to accept several payments until the total is covered.

  4. Set the concept and the expiration

The concept fills in automatically and you can change it. Under expiration choose 24 hours, 3 days, 7 days or another date; after that date the link stops working.

  5. Create the link

Before you create it, check the preview on the right to see how your customer will see it.

Advanced options

When you create the link, the advanced options let you add:

  • Description: extra text shown on the payment page.
  • Times it can be paid: how many times the link can be paid for the full amount.
  • Password protection: only people with the password can pay (at least 4 characters).
  • Return page after paying: your own thank-you page.
  • Turn into a fundraiser: several people contribute until a goal is reached.

Send the link

  1. Open the link

In the list, click the link to see its details.

  2. Click “Send link”

Choose “Send via WhatsApp” or “Send via Email”. You can also copy the public link and paste it anywhere.

  3. Use the QR code or the website button

In the details you can download the QR as PNG or SVG to print it on receipts, and copy the embeddable button code for your website.

Check whether you got paid

  1. Check the status in the list

Each link shows as Active, Paid, Expired or Voided. At the top you see total links, active ones, paid ones and the amount collected.

  2. Filter what you need

Search by title or customer and filter by Status or Source (for example, Manual, AI agent or Customer portal).

  3. Look at the attempts

In the details, payment attempts and activity show every attempt, including declined ones, so you know if the customer tried to pay.

The list shows at a glance which links are still active and which have been paid.

Note

After creating it you can change the title, description, expiration and payment rules, but not the amount or the customer. If you need different ones, void the link and create a new one.

Tip

Put the concept and the customer's name in the title (for example, “Annual plan · Carlos”) so you can find it quickly in the list.
