Email marketing

Design email templates, send them to your customers or to a CSV list, and track opens, clicks and unsubscribes.

Before you start

Set up your email provider (Mailgun, SendGrid or SMTP) in Settings › Connected services, under Email provider. Without it you will see the notice “Set up an email provider to send emails.” The module lives in Sell › Emails.

Create an email template

Every campaign starts from a template. Go to Emails › Templates.

  1. Create the template

    Create a new one and enter the Name, the Subject and the Preview text (what shows next to the subject in the inbox).

  2. Design the content

    Drag blocks in the visual editor and check how it looks in Desktop view and Mobile view. If you prefer, use Edit HTML.

  3. Personalize with variables

    Use variables such as {{customer_name}} or {{company_name}} so each email carries the customer's and your business name.

  4. Activate it

    Check Active template and save. Only active templates appear when you make a bulk send.

Send a bulk email to your customers

In Emails › Bulk send you see at the top how many customers have an email, how many are eligible and how many unsubscribed.

  1. Filter who to send to

    In the Select customers tab filter by city, segment, email list or other criteria.

  2. Select the customers

    Check customers one by one or use Select all.

  3. Choose the template

    Pick the Email template, review it with View preview and, if needed, attach a file up to 10 MB.

  4. Send

    Click Send emails. Recaudo skips invalid addresses, duplicates and anyone who unsubscribed.

Send a bulk email from a CSV

Use a CSV file when each recipient needs their own data, such as an amount, a date or a reference number.

  1. Upload the file

    In Bulk send open the Upload CSV file tab and upload your file.

  2. Pick the email column

    Choose which one is the Email column.

  3. Map the variables

    Under Map template variables choose which column fills each variable.

  4. Send

    Click Send from CSV.

Unsubscribes

When someone unsubscribes, Recaudo stops sending them bulk emails and lists them in Emails › Unsubscribes. There you see how many unsubscribed this month and this week, and you can use Resubscribe if a customer asks you to.

Note

We recommend adding a visible unsubscribe link to your templates with the {{unsubscribe_url}} variable. That way customers can opt out without marking you as spam.

See results

Measure every send from the same menu:

  • Statistics: sent, delivered, opened, clicked, bounced and unsubscribed over 7, 30 or 90 days.
  • Logs: each email with its status (sent, opened, clicked or bounced) and its timeline.
  • Flows: email sequences with waits and conditions based on whether the customer opened or clicked.

Tip

Before sending to your whole base, send to a small list that includes your own email to check how it looks in your inbox and on your phone.
